Virginia Driver's Manual Course
The VDOE, in partnership with VADETS, is pleased to announce a new online test prep course for the learner's permit. This course is for students under 18 who have failed the learner's permit test 3 times and who have already successfully completed the Driver Education classroom course. Students 18 or older may take the course after failing the Learner's Permit test 3 times without completing classroom Driver Education. We also created this resource for students, parents, ELL, and special education teachers. The course is available to anyone who would like to prepare for the learner’s permit test. More information can be found on DMV's website: https://www.dmv.virginia.gov/drivers/#three_exam_failures.asp Upon successful completion of the online Driver's Manual Course, the students will receive a DMC-3 certificate of completion. Students under 18 will then present the certificate, along with a DEC-1 or DEC-8 driver education classroom completion certificate, to the DMV so they may re-take the learner’s permit test a 4th time. Students over 18 will present the certificate of completion for the online Driver's Manual Course to DMV. The cost for this course is $49.
